Bahrain Post issues commemorative stamps, first issue covers, and souvenir sheets marking various occasions on a regular basis.Commemorative and special stamps are offered for sale to customers of postal stamps for a period of no more than 6 months from the date of issue and are available for purchase at any Bahrain Post outlet. Stamp collectors may obtain the stamps from the Philatelic Bureau during a maximum period of two years from the date of issue.

Philately in Bahrain

 

Bahrain Post is an active Philatelic member, and as such, it regularly issues new definitive stamps, commemorative stamps and special stamps to represent and reflect important milestones in the Kingdom of Bahrain, targeted at stamp collectors and enthusiasts both in Bahrain and abroad.

The Philatelic Bureau also maintains a permanent Postage Stamp Exhibition, displaying stamps from the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as stamps from around the world. Established for the preservation of the postage stamps issued in the name of Bahrain, the exhibition features the first stamp collections issued as well as historical items related to the postal services such as old weights, historical and commemorative stamps, blocks used for stamp printing and other exhibits.

With the aim to encourage philately in Bahrain, Bahrain Post also issues annual albums with special first issue covers, which are available for up to six months from the date of issue. These stamps are available for purchase at any Bahrain Post branch. Philatelists can also purchase these from the Philatelic Bureau within 2 years from the date of issue.

The Post Museum- History and Archiving- is open at Bab Al Bahrain to the public and can be visited from 8am till 5pm every week Saturday- Thursday.
